The Songs of Christmas: My Song

Psalms 96:1‭-‬2 NKJV
Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
What’s your favourite Christmas carol?
We wish you a merry Christmas, jingle bells and Silent night are some of the most widely sung Christmas carols around the globe. This week we have looked at 4 songs around the Christmas story. Zacharias’ song, Marys song, the Angel’s song and Simeon’s song. The conception and birth of Christ provoked them to sing, and each song has a specific message.
What song are you provoked to sing this Christmas season? What personal revelation of Christ do you have that would provoke you to sing? The world has its songs around this season, songs that focus on material things and miss out on the reason for the season. If that becomes your focus, then you will sing the same song as well.
Jesus said of himself;
Luke 4:18‭-‬19 NKJV
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
As we celebrate Christmas yet again, this is my song, a song of good news to the poor, a song of healing and liberty, a song of revelation and freedom, a song of favour and my father’s love.
What song are you singing this Christmas?
Merry Christmas.
