The Gift of Christmas: The Gift of His Presence

Isaiah 7:14 NKJV
14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
In the beginning, when God created man and placed him in the garden of Eden, God would come down in the cool of the day to commune with man. After the fall, that scenario was changed, there was a great separation between God and man.
Jesus came to change all that. His name Immanuel literally means God with us. God became flesh and dwelt among us. The gift of Christmas is the gift of his presence. Not only did he become man and walk the face of this earth over 2000 years ago, he now lives in the heart of all who believe in him.
Jesus promised that he will never leave us nor will he forsake us. He is always with us as long as we believe in him. Think about this, that the God who created everything that exists both seen and unseen, the God who says that heaven is his throne and the earth is his footstool. The God who is too big to comprehend and contain has chosen to live in your heart. That is a profound miracle.
This Christmas may we be reminded that we carry his presence everywhere we go, and in his presence there is fulness of joy. Take that joy wherever you go and spread it around and remember, whenever his presence shows up, things are never the same.
Reflections.
Who is one human being you would love to meet physically and have an audience with?
How does knowing that God lives in you affect your perception of life?
Because you carry his presence, you take him wherever you go. What does this mean to you?
