Finishing Strong: The Power of Review

Genesis 1:31 NKJV
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Someone said that if you do not know where you are going, then any road will take you there. As we come to the end of the year, sometimes we can be hard on ourselves thinking that it has not been a good year but what I would say to you is this; it has not been a good year based on what?
A few days ago we were having our end of year get together as a church staff and I asked everyone to share the highs and lows of 2022. Everybody shared positive and good things that we had been able to achieve as a team and this encouraged me and changed my perspective because I was only focusing on the negative things in 2022. I came into the meeting thinking 2022 was a bad year but my team helped me to review the year and see that we had done a lot and it was good.
At the end of every day in the creation story, God looked back and reviewed the work he had done and he said it was good. He did not wait until he finished, but rather, her reviewed his work step by step at the end of every day.
It is always important to look back and review how far you have come. The fact that you are reading this means that you are alive and that the biggest positive of 2022. You are still here.
Take some time today to look back, review 2022 and see how far you have come. Take time to notice the small things we tend to ignore, don’t just focus on the negative, see the good as well. I am sure it outweighs the bad. Some of the things you had hoped to achieve may not have happened along the way but I am sure God sprung up some surprises that you had not imagined.
Look back see the good, it will help you plan for the new coming year.
