Interrogating The Early Church: A United Church

Acts 2:46 NKJV
So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
The Church as we know it today was birthed on the day of Pentecost when those in the upper room were filled with the Holy Spirit and Peter preached a message and 3000 people were added to their number.
The early church was united, they continued daily in one accord, they functioned as one body.
Though they went through persecution and some even lost their lives, they were united. They rallied together and even sold their possessions so that no one among them was in need.
Acts 2:46 says they were “in one accord.”
Acts 4:32 says, “they were of one heart and one soul.”
These men and women held their faith in common, and they genuinely loved one another. They stood with one another and not against one another.
Psalms 133 tells us that where there is unity God commands a blessing, and we can see that blessing in the Church in the book of Acts.
Though we have many denominations today, we must never forget that we all belong to Christ, and we all belong to the same body.
When we stand united, loving one another and truly caring for one another, the Church will be more impactful as it was in the book of Acts.
Remember, the church is not the building, the church is the people. If we are to be united, then each one of us must take personal responsibility to love and care for others and to enhance unity.
Reflections.
How united are you in your family?
Why does God demand that as his children, we remain united?
What must you do to ensure that you are an agent of unity and not division?
