Recipe For Revival: Seek His Face

2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Prayer less ness is an indication of pride in the life of a believer. When we do not pray, what we are communicating is that we do not need God, and we are self-sufficient. We must first humble ourselves before we get to the place of prayer.
There is no revival that took place without prayer and brokenness before God. How else do we humble ourselves to God in brokenness and plead for his mercy if it is not in prayer?
We served a merciful God who, even though he is all mighty and powerful, has given us an avenue where we can talk to him and present our requests. It is that connection with him that allows his life to flow through us. Prayer is like that umbilical cord that connects a mother and child, ensuring that the child receives all the necessary nutrients to sustain life. Pride seek to cut off the chord and declare independence from God because one believes that can go at it alone, forgetting that the very life we take pride in comes from God.
One of the first signs that a believer is drifting away from God is the sin of prayerless ness. When we have no time to seek God in prayer, then we are no longer in a place of humility and brokenness before God.
Jesus did so many great things while he walked on this earth, but the one thing that his disciples asked him to teach them was how to pray. The disciples took note that all that Jesus was able to do and the close relationship he had with God was all birthed in the place of prayer.
One would ask, how much prayer is enough? How long should one pray?
The Bible tells us that we should pray without ceasing, we should always be praying, we should always depend on God, even where we feel adequate, we should always seek his counsel and help.
God desires to have a relationship with us, a relationship between a father and his children. That relationship is developed in the place of prayer ad that is why he has made himself available to everyone so that your relationship with Him is not determined by anyone else.
Just as he did in the Garden of Eden, God still wants to come down in the cool of the day and have a relationship with you and me. Are we available, and will we realize our need for him and make the time?
