Identity and Reassurance: You are not Forgotten

Isaiah 49:15 Amplified Bible (AMP)
15 [The LORD answered] “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.
I love the “Home Alone” series of movies, but my personal favourite is the very first one. The story line is basically about a family who go off for a Christmas holiday but in the midst of the rush they forget their last-born child Kevin all alone at home. It’s a very hilarious movie, and every so often we do feel like God has forgotten us because He has been too busy with other issues that are more important.
David knew how that felt. Remember when the prophet came to anoint the next king of Israel, Jesse, David’s father brought out all his sons and he forgot about David who was out in the field taking care of the sheep. The story did end well because David was called and anointed as the next King of Israel.
When you look at your life and the circumstances you have been through, do you sometimes get the feeling and thought that God has forgotten you? Does it seem like His attention is more on those around you and not you?
Well, rest assured that through a nursing mother may forget about their child; God promises that He can never forget you! You are His child, and you are that special to Him!
Your circumstances should not dictate to you that God has forgotten you. Job went through pain and trouble, but God did not forget about him in fact, God was with him through his tribulations. Remember, God loves us so much that He has promised that all things will work out for your good!
Be encouraged today, God has not forgotten you, He knows you by name, and He has a good plan for your life!
