Blessed Assurance: Assurance of Salvation

John 5:24 NKJV
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.”
To be assured of something is to have the complete conviction or guarantee about the said thing.
As a believer, are you assured of salvation? Our key verse tells us that he who hears the words of Christ and believes in him who sent him has everlasting life. This talks about the present now!
God wants you and I to have the assurance right now that we are saved because we have believed in Jesus.
The most famous scripture in the bible John 3:16 gives us the unconditional promise that whosoever believes in Jesus will not perish but has everlasting life.
The enemy will try sporadically to challenge our salvation by sowing seeds of doubt in our life. He will keep telling us nothing has changed, and we are still the same sinner, especially when we make mistakes and succumb to temptations. Do not fall for his lies.
Remember the bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God because those who come to him must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.
It is faith in the complete work that Christ did on the cross on my behalf that gives me the full assurance that I am saved. This is not based on my works, but on the complete work that Jesus did on the cross. I have the assurance that I am saved, not because I am good, but because God is good and Christ paid the price for my sin on the cross after which he declared “It Is finished!” For that reason, I am fully persuaded that I am saved.
