In life under the sun, especially this Covid-19 period, and the conflicts we are witnessing between Nations of the world, we go through thick and thin, sometimes with mixed feelings of panic, fear, anger, sadness, confusion, loss, and despair. Most of the time, leaving us to ask, where is God in all this?
The question is essentially the same that people ask when a pandemic or a hurricane wipes out hundreds of lives or when a child dies from cancer. It seems our life is surrounded by the “mystery of suffering’’. It is a question that we grapple with almost on daily basis. But our heavenly father says in Psalms 55:22 that we cast our burdens on the Lord and He will sustain us, He will never let us (the righteous) be shaken.
As a station, we receive numerous prayer requests during our on-air programs, and sometimes they are overwhelming, that’s why we are claiming the new month of March with a prayer campaign.
For the next 5 days, starting on Monday the 7th March 2022, we are going to cast our burdens on Him, praying without ceasing as the Bible tells us. We want to challenge our listeners, viewers, and followers to join us for the prayer challenge each day for 5 days!
“Here’s how the prayer challenge works. Every day for the next 5 days, we will pray for a specific prayer point and have our viewers and listeners set aside at least 10 minutes a day to pray with us on those prayer points.” James Okumu, Host Jam 316
People will be praying over the course of 5 days for the Nation, the Church and the Christian community, the Family, the Economy, the Sick, and the Children.
“We hope to have 700 people register as active prayer partners by the end of the prayer challenge. We will also have the prayer points sent out on our various platforms so that as many as possible are reached and are able to be part of this noble campaign.’’ Fred Njiri, Head of Family Radio 316
While launching the prayer campaign on the weekly Friday program Behind The Scenes, the CEO, Family Media Mr. Leo Slingerland said, “Prayer is not a general thing, it is a relationship between us and the Father, and in its simplicity, we all need to seek God for ourselves and to stand in the gap for others.”
The campaign theme is drawn from the book of Mathew 6:6 ”But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.’’ The prayer campaign will run concurrently on Jam 316 and Prayer Cycle on Radio and Family TV, and during the normal programming of the day on Family Radio 316.
As we look forward to the next 5 days of the on-air prayer campaign, and as we pray and bless the Lord for the many things He has done in our lives we call upon you to take the challenge and register to be part of the Family Prayer Partners.
