The King is Born: Adopting a Kingdom Lifestyle

John 10:10 NKJV
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.
All over the world this week, millions of people have been celebrating that The King was born. This king rules over a kingdom, and his invitation to us is to be a part of that kingdom. The King’s purpose for coming is that we may have life and life abundantly. Without him, we have no life because he is the way, the truth, and the life. To celebrate that he came and yet fail to embrace and enjoy the abundant life that he came to offer would be such a waste.
The king is calling us to live life on a whole new level. What would be the point of his coming if nothing changed after we embraced him? When you read the Bible, you will discover that those who embraced him and received this abundant life became completely new people. Whether it is the Samaritan woman at the well, the man possessed by a legion of demons or the disciples, their lives were totally transformed.
Paul encourages us along when he says;
Colossians 3:1-3 NKJV
1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
To adopt a Kingdom lifestyle means to gain a new perspective. It means setting our minds on eternal things, things above and not to be consumed by the things on earth, material things that have no eternal value.
Each one of us must daily choose to stay connected to the King and ensure that his word abides in us because it is in so doing that we will align our lives yo the kingdom values ensuring that we experience the abundant life that the King came to freely give us.
Reflections.
If you were to sum up your current experience of life with one word, what would that word be?
Have you embraced The King as the King of your life?
How has your life changed since you embraced the King?
