Redeeming the Time

Time, the most precious of gifts given to man by his creator. The thing about time is that we all get the same hours in a day but no one knows how many days they will live, thus the most important thing is to do the very best and make every day count.

The enemy comes to kill steal and destroy and unknown to many today, the enemy is stealing their time through unproductive habits and engagement.

Social media has become a way of life and many of us today cannot go for a day let alone an hour without checking our social media platforms. Researchers tell us that a good number of Kenyans spend an average of three and a half hours on social media per day. The sad reality is that when you look at social media statistics, it is the empty and sensual content that gets millions of views rather than content that can actually change lives, and we wonder why today’s society is so empty.

Even among believers, we have become so distracted that we no Longer have time to read the word of God, but we can spend hours on social media every day filling ourselves with some sensuality or nothingness.

God is raising the alarm to alert us of this subtle weapon the enemy is using to cause us to get so distracted that we no longer know what God is saying, or we become oblivious of the times we are living in. My people perish because of lack of knowledge.

Think about these statistics concerning reading the Bible;

  • If you read for 10Hrs 40 minutes Daily, you will finish the Bible in a week.
  • If you read for 2.5 hours daily you will finish the Bible in a month.
  • If you read for 50 minutes daily you will finish the Bible in 3 months.
  • If you read for 30 minutes daily you will finish the Bible in 6 Months
  • If you read for 15 minutes daily you will finish the bible in a year
  • If you read for 6 minutes daily you will finish the bible in 2 years.

The question each of us must ask ourselves is this; God gives me 24 hours every day, what am I giving my time to? For what you give your time to, that is what you become.

“Therefore, see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence] because the days are [filled with] evil.”
