Raila Odinga Rejects Presidential Election Results

Raila Odinga who is the Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate has discredited the results of the August 9, presidential election saying the announcement of the results is null and void and that should be challenged in a court of law.

Speaking at the Kenyatta International Conference Center on Tuesday, accompanied  by his running mate Martha Karua, and Kalonzo Musyoka of Wiper Party, Raila said, “Kenya faces a grave legal and political crisis. What happened yesterday was a travesty and blatant disregard of the laws of Kenya by Mr. Chebukati,” adding that “We totally reject the presidential results announced yesterday by Mr. Chebukati.”

Mr Odinga also said he is exploring all constitutional and legal means to settle the matter and urged Azimio supporters to remain calm.

Just before Raila could address the members of the Azimio-One Kenya Alliance who had gathered at the KICC, the four commissioners led by IEBC Vice Chair Juliana Cherera in a presser claimed that the average percentages of the results scored by the four presidential candidates exceeded the 100 percent mark casting doubt on the accuracy of the votes tallied.

The four commissioners were revealing the reasons that informed their decision on Tuesday 15th August, to disown the results of the August 9 presidential polls.
