Following the dismissal of the Presidential Petition by the Supreme Court citizens all over Kenyan are out on the streets celebrating. Public figures were also not left behind as they took to social media to also celebrate or lament the outcomes of the ruling. Here are some of the reactions;
“Congratulations Bill my love. God has done it. I am proud of you! May He give you the grace & wisdom to lead Kenya into greatness! You were born & destined for this! Heb 10:23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm for God can be trusted to keep His promise,” Rachel Ruto the 5th First Lady.
“Congratulations President-elect William Ruto. May you always respect and uphold the constitution.” Boniface Mwangi. While Hon Ndindi Nyoro said, “We thank the Lord for the step He has taken this nation. We Africans and Africa is our business…”
The opposition team also spoke up;
“We have always stood for the rule of law and the constitution. In this regard, we respect the opinion of the court although we vehemently disagree with their decision today,” Hon Raila Odinga.
Immediately after the announcement a video made rounds showing the President Elect William Ruto together with his wife Rachel and other leaders praying and worship after the ruling. The President Elect is expected to address the Nation any time from now at his Karen Residence. But before his official address he tweeted; “With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” — Mark 10:27,” President Elect William Ruto.
