Making Godly Decisions: Godly Decision Making

Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV
6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding [a]in it with thanksgiving.
Every day, we have decisions we need to make, decisions that will affect our lives either positively or negatively. As believers in Christ we need to make decisions not based on our emotions or our will, rather we must make decisions based on God’s word while allowing our emotions to take their rightful place and role.
Joshua 1:8 is very pivotal if we must make Godly decisions.
Joshua 1:8 NKJV
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then, you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Christ is the word of God and if we have received Him, then we should walk in Him. To walk in Him is to walk in obedience to His word, just as Joshua was instructed to be careful to do according to all that is written in the book of the law. We are to be rooted in Him. This means that were are to take our nourishment from Him, we are to be instructed and built up in Him. As we have been saying, our mind is like a computer, but it needs an operating software to be functional. The operational software is installed through the information that we embrace and then believe, creating strongholds that program how we see life and live it. These strongholds then determine how we make decisions and thus affect our Quality of life.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
If we must make Godly decisions then our minds MUST be renewed. This can only happen if we go back to the instructions that God gave Joshua. The word of God must not depart from our mouths, we must meditate on it DAY and NIGHT, meaning all the time. We must observe to DO according to ALL that is written in it, meaning we should not just be hearers of the word but DOERS, for faith without works is dead.
This will lead us to make Godly decisions that will guarantee our ways to be prosperous, and we will have good success.
Reflections
How do you make decisions on issues that are not clearly spelled out in the Bible?
What is the hardest Godly decision that you have made, and how did it affect your life?
Do you believe that reading and meditating on the word of God has a great impact on your decision-making? If yes, how often do you read it?
