Kenya Defence Forces Bid Goodbye to President Kenyatta

The military will be having a farewell ceremony for the Outgoing Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces President Uhuru Kenyatta today the 9th of September. The ceremony will be held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Langata, Nairobi.

The ceremony is in accordance with the KDF traditions, “This is in line with the military tradition and custom to hold a farewell ceremony for the Commander-In-Chief of Defence Forces,” Colonel Esther Wanjiku said.

This is the third time the ceremony will be held following Kenya’s 2nd and 3rd late Presidents Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki in 2002 and 2013 respectively.

The event will thereafter proceed for the Pulling Out of the outgoing Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces in the afternoon at Defence Headquarters, Hurlingham, Nairobi,” Department of Defence stated in a presser.

The event will be led by the Chief of Defence Forces, General Robert Kariuki Kibochi, Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa among other officers. In attendance also are  students from the Moi forces academy’s.
