As the 2022 presidential election petition is ongoing at the supreme court, President Uhuru Kenyatta made his first public appearance since the elections visiting Barka Restaurant in Old Town, Mombasa.
The President who was spotted in the company of the outgoing governor Hassan Joho, the Mombasa governor-elect Abdulswamad Nassir and Mvita MP-elect Mahsoud Machele among others, after lunch, left for Mombasa County offices for a meeting whose details remain scanty as the media was not allowed in.
Mr Kenyatta, who was in a cheerful mood, acknowledged greetings from excited locals who asked him to address them.
