The Five Crowns: The Crown of Rejoicing

1 Thessalonians 2:18-19
New King James Version
18 Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us. 19 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?
When Jesus was ascending back to heaven, he left his disciples with what we call the great commission. They were to go into the world and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit and then teach them to observe all the things he had commanded them. This means they were to go out and win souls for the Lord.
The crown of rejoicing is a crown that is given to those who win souls for the Lord.
Paul the writer of the book of Thessalonians talks about this crown relating it to the believers in Thessalonica being in the presence of the Lord at his coming.
This is what Jesus said about the lost coming to the Lord;
Luke 15:7 NKJV
7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine [a]just persons who need no repentance.
There is always great rejoicing in heaven when one sinner repents because remember, that is why Jesus died on the cross. Though the wages of sin is death, the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!
The sad reality is that many believers today do not share their faith with others. we are not very deliberate in our daily lives to win souls into the kingdom. We have even believed that it is the job of the five-fold ministers to win souls but nothing could be further from the truth.
God expects each believer to share their faith and he has already equipped us with the Holy Spirit enabling us to be effective soul winners. Remember, Jesus said if we follow him then he will make us fishers of men. He also promised that when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we shall be witnesses unto him in Jerusalem Judea Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
There is a crown of rejoicing awaiting those who are diligent and consistent in winning souls into the kingdom.
Reflections;
Do you consider the great commission a personal command from Jesus to you?
What’s your attitude towards soul winning?
When was the last time you won a soul to the kingdom?
