As we edge close to the 2022 general elections, the call for peaceful elections has been on the minds of most Kenyans. The National Council of Churches Kenya (NCCK)Makueni, has gone a step further, “We call upon the President Hon. Uhuru Muingai Kenyatta to lead the country by assuring all Kenyans that the 2022 general election and transition will be peaceful, free, and fair” Francis Matui ACK Bishop-Wote.
In their briefing, the NCCK representatives also requested the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government to make adequate preparations and coordinate the state and non-state actors to secure the general elections. “We urge the National Treasury to fully finance the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission,” they stated further.
