Making Godly Decisions: The Battle of The Mind

II Corinthians 10:4‭-‬5 NKJV
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
There is a great invisible battle that goes on everyday none stop, and that’s the battle of our mind. Our minds are like a computer that needs an operating system to function. Whoever then gets to install the operating system gets to run your life.
It is in our mind that we process information, from which we then create realities that directly affect how we experience and live life. You cannot have a positive, exciting and fulfilled life and a negative mind.
It is important to recognize that the enemy of our souls seeks to destroy us and he does so by planting thoughts that eventually grow into sinful acts and distorted perceptions of God and life. The writer of proverbs tells us that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
The bible has a lot to say about our minds, and it talks of several kinds of minds and how they affect life.
A sinful mind (Romans 8:7 NIV)
A dull mind (2 Corinthians 3:14 NIV)
A blinded mind (2 Corinthians 4:4)
A corrupt mind (2 Timothy 3:8)
A depraved mind (1 Timothy 6:5)
We are also told in Romans 12:2 to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
We must therefore break free from mental strongholds and thought patterns that the enemy has established in our minds, causing is to have a distorted view of life and God. Because of our sinful nature, we are born with a sinful mind, a virus in our operating system that must be taken out, and only God can give us this victory.
The Bible is the instrument God has given us to inform, renew and transform our minds, eventually leading to a transformed life.
As believers, we must guard our heats and mind by being careful what we expose ourselves to. We should also take reign of our emotions because they have the power and capacity to sway how we think and behave in the heat of the moment.
Let’s cast down every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.
