What is one thing you have in abundance? I recently watched a video on collectors, people who collect interesting and even weird things, and they even built strong rooms in their homes to store their treasure. From shoes to soccer jerseys, cars, Coca-Cola cans and even toenail clippings. Imagine having an abundance, bags upon bags, of toenail clippings.

In John 10, Jesus is talking about his ministry using the analogy of a shepherd and his sheep. He says his sheep hear his voice and they follow him. He goes on to say that he is the door to the sheep pen and anyone else who does not come through him but rather goes through the fence is a thief who comes to kill, steal and destroy.

Jesus came that we may have life and life abundantly. This means that before he came we did not have the kind of life that he is talking about, otherwise why would he come to give us something we already had?

This abundant life is not what many think. It is not abundance of material things as many would claim, but rather it is the spiritual life, the very life of God that Jesus came to give us. This is life everlasting, life eternal a life abundant with peace, grace, hope, and love. This is the kind of life that is not affected by what happens in this natural world, it is life that no one can take away from us. This is the life that cannot even be altered by death. As Jesus said,

If you have believed in Jesus, then you have been given the abundant life that he is referring to. The question is, do you believe this?

What is one item you have in abundance?

Toe experience the abundant life, we must hear the voice of the Shepherd. Do you hear it? How? What is he saying to you?
