This week has been filled with celebration and jubilations as families celebrated the results of their keen in the recently released KCPE results. Aside from the joy and thanksgiving, a big question looms in the minds of most parents and students alike, which school will I be selected to join?
Over the past years, the system of form one selection has been rigged with controversies on how the process is conducted. Cabinet Secretary for Education Prof. George Magoha assured parents that the process will be fair with no form of “tampering”. Speaking to the media the CS said, “We have to ensure there is affirmative action which takes into account the geographical distribution of this country. Just to tell you that children from the northern regions must also be represented in all areas of national schools. To do that God and the government have given us the power to be fair.”
The CS also alluded to a shocking improved performance by some of the schools the general public may not consider to perform well. In the same breath, he teased the announcement of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Exams results within the next 2 weeks, “Every child is safe in Magoha’s hand.” He said.
