The long-awaited announcement by the Wiper Party leader has finally been made earlier today. After several speculations on which camp he will shift his numbers to he finally made up his mind, “As a people, our true measure lies in the ability to discern. When the nation is bigger than the individual. Therefore, after deep introspection, I have deferred my dream to run for President in the forthcoming General Election.”
The former Vice president expressed after several discussions with different stakeholders that he will be, “I have decided to accept with humility and appreciation my nomination as a chief Minister in the Azimo One Kenya coalition.” He went on to congratulate the running mate of the Azimo La Umoja Martha Karua, “I want to assure Martha of my full and unequivocal support and that of the ticket of Raila and Martha Karua.”
In his speech, he thanked the over sixty-six thousand supporters in more than thirty-three counties who supported his candidature. Hon. Kalonzo further affirmed the agenda of the coalition and his belief that they will win the upcoming general elections.
