How Good is your Hearing? Faith and Hearing

Romans 10:17 AMP
17 So faith comes from hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the [preaching of the] message concerning Christ.
The Christian life is a walk of faith. The bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God because they that come to him must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. None of us have seen God, and thus it takes faith to believe that he exist, it takes faith to believe that the Bible is God’s word.
Faith comes through hearing and believing that word.
One of the most powerful things God ever gave man is the MIND, but I think many of us have no or very little understanding of that. One of the things that was corrupted when sin entered into the word is our minds and how we think. The Bible says that as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
What we think we believe, and it becomes our words because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
What we speak them becomes our actions and our actions create the reality that we live in, and it becomes our destiny.
When we come to Christ we are required not to be conformed to the patterns of this world and its way of thinking any longer but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds so that w may be able to prove what is God’s good acceptable and perfect will for our lives.
The renewing of our minds happens as we read the word of God, meditate upon it and then doing what it says.
When Joshua takes over from Moses to lead the children of Israel into the promised land, God give him the instructions to read the book of the law, meditate on it day and night, be careful to do all that it says, then the promise is that his ways will be very successful and prosperous.
Faith comes by hearing the word of God. Once we have heard, then we must meditate on it day and night because that is the process of renewing our minds and growing our faith. Then we must do what the word says, even if what we have known and believed before keeps screaming in our ears to do otherwise.
It is in the doing then that our faith comes alive because James tells us that Faith without works is dead!
Remember, Jesus was unable to do many miracles when he went back to his hometown not because his power was diminished, but rather because the people had no faith. We also may be good churchgoers but experience very little of what God has for us because of little or no faith.
Reflections
Faith comes by hearing the word of God, what is your response every time you hear the word of God?
How often do you meditate on the word of God?
You believe that the Bible is the word of God, but does your interaction and response to what it says demonstrate your belief that it is God’s word?
