We look for refreshing in many ways and in different things. Sometimes we forget where our true refreshing and resetting comes from. There are three aspects in having a refreshed perspective in life. The bible teachers us in:
Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
The first aspect is in knowing our purpose, what we were ultimately made for, which is to worship and live for our LORD Jesus Christ. The second aspect is living a life as God’s beloved, so that our minds can be renewed, so that we would live in God’s will, away from the things that the world would call normal such as fornication, evil thinking, hopeless thoughts, foolish talk and indulging in false teachings.
The third aspect which gives us a view of what to keep in our minds in order to achieve the above is Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
Let us Pray:
“LORD We pray that you would refresh us by the power of your spirit. Help us think of things that please you and fill us with your power to live for you.
Renew our minds and make us more like you. In Jesus Name, Amen!”
