Following  the announcement of the Presidential results yesterday, some organizations, people of goodwill, Kenyan partners and Kenyans have come together to applaud the IEBC for the peaceful and credible electoral process.

With the Electoral Observation Group (ELOG) earlier today releasing their results of their Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT),

“ELOG’s PVT estimates are consistent with the IEBC official results of the 2022 Presidential elections. In light of our assessment of the Election Day processes and given that the IEBC figures fall within the projected ranges the PVT projections therefore collaborate the official results,” part of ELOG’s press statement today the 16th August 2022.

The US embassy in Kenya released a press statement yesterday applauding Kenyans for exercising their right to vote during the 9th August elections. With the Embassy going a set further to thank political parties, civil society’s, and citizens in shaping robust discussions throughout the campaign period.

“Going forward, we urge all parties to work together to peacefully resolve any remaining concerns about this election through existing dispute resolution mechanisms. We ask all political party leaders to continue to urge their supporters to remain peaceful and refrain from violence during the electoral process,” read part of the statement.

Other foreign leaders have also applauded the new President Elect William Ruto, “Congratulations to @WilliamsRuto on his election as the next President of Kenya.I have no doubt he will serve his country, his people and our continent with distinction,” President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe.

Rwanda’s  President Paul Kagame was also not left behind,  “On behalf of the Government and People of Rwanda, I congratulate our Brothers and Sisters, the People of Kenya, for conducting peaceful elections on 9 August 2022. I also congratulate H.E. Dr William Samoei Ruto, the President-Elect.”

Former President of Somalia Mohammed Farmaajo also took to his twitter to congratulate Hon. Ruto, “I wish to offer my most sincere congratulations to President-Elect of Kenya H.E. @WilliamsRuto and the people of Kenyan following the successful conclusion of the elections. You truly ran an enriching, overpowering campaign & May God help you fulfill your vision for your country.”
