Matthew 23:4-5
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
Jesus said that one of the signs before the end comes will be deception. Many people will be deceived by people claiming to be the Christ. In this generation and in our nation we have seen several people who have risen up declaring that they are Christ and they managed to amass for themselves an impressive following.
We have also seen others who do not necessarily make the claim that they are Christ, but they claim to be the mediator between God and the people. Unless you go to them then you cannot get to God. Unless they pray for you, God will not hear you, unless they pray for you, you will not be delivered and no one can question their authority lest they be cursed.
Jesus said that he is the way, he is the truth and he is the life. No one can get to God unless they come through Christ who is also the door. The Bible says there is only one mediator between God and man and that is Jesus Christ.
Unless we stay in the word not just to read it but to do what it says, unless we stay in the place of prayer, we will become prime candidates for deception. The devil is cunning and he is in this generation spinning up deceptions crafted as new revelations that sound deep but are indeed empty and high sounding nonsense that distract us from having a genuine relationship with Christ.
The only way to guard against being deceived is to know the way, the truth and the life.

Reflections.
Is Jesus your all in all or do you tend to look for other solutions?
How close and intimate are you with Jesus?
Do you know him or do you just know about him?
