A man hunt has been launched for the bandits who killed 11 people including 8 police officers in Turkana, Saturday morning. The officers were in pursuit of cattle rattles in Katiteitei village; when they came to their untimely death.
The National Police Service Spokesperson Bruno Shioso in statement today stated, “A multi-agency security operation has today been launched in the area to arrest the perpetrators, recover the stolen animals and firearms, and return normalcy to the area,” read part of the statement.
Security has been beefed up in the area with more police officers being deployed in the area. As the police spokesperson reaffirmed that, “the acts of criminality and impunity shall not be tolerated and it will also be brought to an end at all costs.”
“NPS appeals to the public to cooperate with this noble effort to return security to the area by volunteering information that may lead to arrest of the criminals and recovery of stolen animals,” Police spokesman Bruno Shioso.
Kenyan citizens are passing their condolences to the families of the afflicted officers and civilians including peace maker Mary Ekai. As they also call upon the government to take immediate action and complete deal with raiders in the area.
