John 3:16 NKJV
For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten son, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM should not perish but have everlasting life.
Society judges and places people in classes such that only people of a certain class can access certain things or are treated in a certain way. God’s love is not so. The bible says that whoever believes in the Son has access to God’s love. Remember that God demonstrated his love for us by sending his only-begotten Son to take our sin upon himself and die, then resurrect back from the dead so that we could be reconciled with God our Father. Whoever believes in this demonstration of God’s love, no matter their race, or “class” no matter their gender or tribe, they can access this unconditional, sacrificial love of God.
To think that God came down through his son to become like one of us, to experience what we experience so that he could demonstrate his love for us and redeem us, is mind-boggling. Jesus was born in what we would call the lowly side of society. He associated with the most common of men, and even when it came to choosing his disciples he chose those that many of us would not have chosen. This just goes to demonstrate that his love is accessible to anyone who will embrace it, and not just the chosen few.
John 1:12-13 NKJV
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [c]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Reflections
Have you accessed and embraced the love of God?
How has this love changed your life?
Are you telling and demonstrating this love to others and telling them that they too have access to it?
