How Good is Your Hearing? Benefits of Hearing

Psalm 1:2‭-‬3 NKJV
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
The first Psalm gives an excellent description of the benefits of the individual who chooses to take the word seriously, delight in it and obey what it says. Foremost, it calls this individual blessed. That is the state in which they live their life. This individual is not running around chasing after a blessing, and neither are they hoping that maybe God will bless them. They are blessed!
He is likened to a tree that’s planted by the rivers of water, meaning first, he is grounded and established. His life is anchored in the word and what it says. This ensures that he is always nourished because they take delight in the ways of God.
This is a fruitful individual, remember Jesus said that if we abide in him and his words abide in us, then we will be fruitful. God’s desire is that we would produce much fruit, meaning, this individual is a delight to his heavenly father. No wonder their leaf does not wither and whatever they do, God promises that it will prosper.
I am certain that both you and I would love to be the individual described in Psalm 1. Well, I can almost hear what God would say to us, It’s simple, all we have to do is to take delight in the word of God to meditate on it day and night and to be careful to do everything that the word says, and the results are guaranteed.
Sounds familiar?
Joshua 1:8 NKJV
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
