Entering Your New Season: Follow The Ark

JOSHUA 3:3 AMP
…and they commanded the people, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God being carried by the Levitical priests, then you shall set out from where you are and follow it.
The new year is here and, as always, it signifies a new season. Many will set out this week and write New Year’s resolutions and what they intend to do this year, which is good, but who will you allow to lead you.
Proverbs tells us to trust the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our understanding. We are to acknowledge him in all our ways, and he will direct our path.
The children of Israel were finally there, ready to enter into the land of promise, but there was one issue; before them was the Jordan River, and it was flooded, and they needed to cross it. The instructions they were given were to follow the ark. Where the ark was carried, they were to follow.
Yesterday we talked about focusing on the Ark, the children of Israel were to focus on the Ark which was a representation and reminder of their covenant with God and his presence in their midst. But why focus on that? They needed to focus so that they know when to move.
What will determine the direction you move into in 2023? Will it be the circumstances or your emotions? What will guide you?
The psalmist said, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path.”
If we make the word a priority in 2023 then he will guide us through his word. His word is truth, and the truth sets us free.
Jesus said that ;
JOHN 10:27 AMP
The sheep that are My own hear My voice and listen to Me; I know them, and they follow Me.
Are you part of his fold? Then listen to his voice and only move when he says so. Even when he leads you into the flooded Jordan River or into the wilderness, trust him and follow his voice. He will get you where you need to be.
To hear his voice, you must walk close to him. You must watch the ark, your focus, and attention must be on him and not the surrounding situations. When He says come, then you must be willing to move out of your comfort zone and walk towards Him.
Reflections
Who is one individual that you fully trust and would not struggle to follow their leading even if you don’t fully understand?
How does God speak to you, and what was the latest direction he gave you?
When has God ever led you into situations that seemed dangerous and yet, it worked for your good?
