Matthew 6:33 AMP
33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.
As a believer one of the questions people will always ask is “How do I know what God is calling me to do?” Sometimes we focus so much on this question we lose the essence of our walk with God. I have encountered people who were frustrated because they felt that God was not revealing to them what he wants them to do. Others are so afraid of doing the wrong thing and disappoint God they freeze and end up doing nothing.
First and most importantly we are to seek his kingdom. Remember Jesus called the disciples that they may first be with him and then that he may sent them out.
As we develop a close relationship with God, there are those things that he has commanded us to do in his word that we ought to do. Before you focus on that unknown will of God over your life, how about we focus on that which is clearly stipulated in his word? Preaching the gospel, loving others, serving others, being part of a fellowship and all the other things clearly laid out for us in the bible.
I have discovered that are we stay faithful in doing that and seeking after his Kingdom, then He will begin to direct us in a particular way that we should go. He may lead you to minister to women or to plant a church or to relocate and start something in a new location. You may also find yourself having this strong desire to move in a particular direction in your service to God. This is where prayer kicks on on a higher level as you seek direction from him with whom you have a relationship.
Because of the relationship you have developed with Him, then hearing will not be hard and you will know exactly which direction he is leading you into and when to make the move.
Does every believer have a call from God? Yes they do and we have the known call that is clearly laid out in his word. Before you stress yourself on the unknown specific will of God over your life, be faithful to do the know.
