As Kenyans await the Supreme Court ruling on the Presidential Petition today at 12 PM. The National Police Service (NPS) yesterday released a statement citing three roads that will be closed down on Monday 5th September 2022; 2 hours before the time given out by the Supreme Court. This took effect as from 10 AM this morning.
“Ngong road will be closed at the junction of Ngong Road 1s Avenue (opposite NHIF). No motorists will be allowed to access CBD through Kenyatta Avenue via Cathedral Road but instead they are advised to use Haile Selassie Avenue. Cathedral Road/Milimani Ngong Road which accesses Milimani Law Courts will be closed at Kenyatta Avenue/ Valley road Junction (NSSF). Only vehicles heading to the court will be allowed. All other motorists are advised to use Valley Road. Cathedral road/Haile Selassie Avenue junction will be closed and Motorists are advised to use alternative route of Haile Selassie/Ngong Road.” NPS statement.
The National Police Service also thanked the public for the cooperation they have had with the Police Service during the electioneering period. Giving a vote thanks ahead of the ruling; “We therefore urge all Kenyans to be united, embrace our diversity and foster the spirit of brotherhood as we support one another. Let us preach peace, a fundamental asset in building our country. As we engage in our day-to-day activities.#OneCountryOnePeople’” NPS shared in their Twitter handle.
