Romans 8:14–15 NKJV
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
He who leads you determines where you go and the decisions you make. The bible says that those that are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. This means that the opposite is also true, those that are not led by the Spirit of God are not sons of God.
With this in mind, we should each ask ourselves the question, who is leading me?
To know the answer to this question, we have to turn to the book of Galatians 5. In verse 16 Paul tells us that if we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfil the desires of the flesh because the flesh and the spirit are consistently at war with one another. He goes on to mention the works of the flesh namely; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like.
He then goes on to mention the fruit and attitudes of those led by the Spirit of God namely; love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness.
When we are led by God’s Spirit, then our desire will be to please God and walk in his ways. This will be the compass we use each time we make decisions no matter his big or small they are, the focus will be to please God and walk in his ways.
