Azimio-One Kenya Alliance Presidential Candidate Raila Odinga has officially filed a petition challenging the outcome of the 2022 general election presidential results at the Supreme Court of Kenya.
Any Party seeking legal redress regarding the presidential results declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati on August 15, had until today (Monday) 2pm to file petitions at the Supreme Court.
Speaking at Milimani Law Courts, one of the lawyers representing the coalition Hon.Dan Maanzo expressed optimism of succeeding adding that they are now expected to serve respondents within one day, who will then have four days to file their responses.
The case will then be heard and determined by September 4, 2022.
The National Council of NGOs, In a statement Sunday, appealed to Kenyans to remain patient and bear with the Supreme Court as it waits to give its determination of the presidential elections. The Council chairperson Stephen Cheboi urged all the political parties and their supporters to continue in the same peaceful spirit and to allow the judiciary time as provided by the law.
