God requires that we walk in holiness, in fact, the Bible tells us that without holiness no one will see God. This is such a high standard for us to attain, but God would never ask us for something he has not enabled us to do; otherwise he would not be just.

We must be intentional about living a holy life, the bible tells us not to walk according to the desires of the flesh, but rather to walk in the spirit. This means that we have a choice in the matter. Even after we have been born again, living holy does not come automatically, we still have to choose to stay on the narrow path that leads to eternal life.

When we fear the Lord, then we will walk in holiness and tame any kind of temptation that the enemy brings our way. Joseph had the fear of God, and thus he told Potiphar’s wife, “How can I do such a thing and sin against my God?” His fear and reverence for God guided him in the decisions he made. He made a choice not to be led by the flesh, but by the Spirit of God.

We all have to make such decisions every day. To be dedicated means to be exclusively allocated to or intended for a particular purpose. Thus, we choose to be exclusively allocated to or intended for holiness. If that is the attitude we live with, then we will be able to counter every temptation that comes our way because we are focused on pleasing God. Even when we slip and fall, we will be quick to run to God and ask for forgiveness.

May we purpose that in every day that God allows us to live on this earth, we will have a reverence for him that will cause us to walk in holiness.
