Genesis 2:7 NKJV
[7] And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Deadbeat dads. This is a term that is synonymous with this generation. This is a term that is used to refer to a dad who has refused to fulfil their parental responsibility.
God is not a deadbeat dad.
One of the most amazing things that we forget is that the life we live comes from God. Man was but dust of the earth u until God breathed into him and man became a living soul. Not only did God give us life, he is the one who sustains it. Of God was to turn away from his role, we would all drop-dead. Without life all these other things would be meaningless.
Someone took Psalm 23 and broke it down in such a way it brings out the Father’s role and our Shepherd.
The Lord is my Shepherd -RELATIONSHIP!
I shall not want –SUPPLY!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures—REST!
He leadeth me beside still waters -REFRESHMENT!
He restoreth my soul—HEALING!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness -GUIDANCE!
For His names sake -PURPOSE!
Yea, though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil -PROTECTION!
For thou art with me -FAITHFULNESS!
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me —
That’s DISCIPLINE!
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies – HOPE!
Thou anointest my head with oil -CONSECRATION!
My cup runneth over –ABUNDANCE!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life -BLESSING!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord — SECURITY!
