We are reminded in the book of Titus as believers to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey and be ready for every good work. As believers, we are ambassadors of the kingdom of God here on earth. It is our civic responsibility, especially at a time like this where political temperatures are high to uphold the law. We have seen severally during an election season people breaking the law, destroying property and even harming others all in the name of elections. We should not be counted among that number. No matter the circumstances, we are expected to uphold the law except where the law is contrary to our faith. Daniel is a good example of that, though the law of the land prohibited him from praying, he still went on to pray because that law was conflicting with his faith.

Paul continues to urge us not to speak evil of ANYONE. Now that’s a tough one, especially in this social media-driven society. So much evil is being said on social media, with many saying negative things about the candidates they are not supporting. As a believer this should not be the case, we should not be speaking evil of no one, even spreading accusations that we cannot substantiate simply because every other person is saying the same. Instead, we should be in prayer for all people.

We are to be peaceable, gentle, showing humility to all men. This reminds us of what the bible admonished us; To consider others as better than ourselves.

WWJD has become a common acronym in today’s society. What would Jesus do? The world is constantly observing how we behave, and they are asking the same question, Is this what Jesus would do?
