The Christian Identity: Seated with Christ

Ephesians 2:4-7 (ESV)
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
The Christian position is the loftiest of all positions. Even the least in the Kingdom of God has a higher position than the greats of this world. Those who have been saved, made alive in Christ, have been raised to a glorious status – they are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. Imagine that! That with all our weaknesses and inadequacies, we are seated with Christ right there where He is, in the heavenly places.
This is extremely encouraging for us. And so if you consider yourself small and insignificant, remember your position in Christ. There is no better and higher place than where Christ is seated – at the right hand of the Father. And if you are a Christian, if you are blood-bought and blood-washed, then that is where you are. Therefore, be of good cheer child of God for it is the pleasure of the Father to give you the kingdom (Luke 12:32). You are not a nobody, you are seated with Christ on high. Hallelujah!
Reflections
1. Do you often think of yourself as being seated with Christ in the heavenly places?
2. In what ways does today’s devotion affect your view of self and how you will act henceforth?
