When your doubt is silenced

Guiding Scripture: Luke 1:1-22

In the normalcy, in what we call our “normal roles” we may not think God is watching. Sometimes we go through the motions thinking God does not care for those motions. We sometimes think that God is only paying attention to the famouse world changes that we know.
When Zacharias in Like chapter one is told that him and his wife will have a child, who’s name will be John (the baptised – cousin to Jesus)

He is simply going about his business. He was going about his priestly duties. Then, suddenly, an angel appears to him with a life changing message.

Here is the thing I noticed with this story. The Bible tells us that he was counted as righteous and obedient, him and his wife… Meaning, despite the probable longing he had to have children, Zacharias remained faithful. He went through the motions but the difference was , that he was faithful and obedient.

Sometimes we wake up just because we have to, just because, well, work has to be done but… Do we live faithful obedient lives to God? Such that in the normalcy in the day to day duties we have that we remain faithful to God and hopeful and believing that his promises will come to pass.

The thing is we would not want to end up literally dumb like Zacharias, who did not believe God’s promise at first but had to wait for John to be born, then his mouth was open.

Sometimes we end up like Zacharias, God silences our doubt and lets us simply see his promise unfold.

It goes to show that we are living our day to day, that God is always working in the background, even when we don’t see. Even then, we should always refresh our spirits in his word daily, so that we can be prepared for these promises we await.

Don’t look down on the service you do for the LORD, or your current situation thinking you are just another atom on this planet, no, you are on God’s mind, and you are not forgotten.
