Transformed or Conformed? Transformed to Know His Will

Romans 12:2  (NKJV)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

How do I know Gods will for my life? That has to be one of the most asked questions among Christians. Sometimes it seems like many of us are walking in the dark not knowing which direction to go. It seems like finding the will of God for one’s life is one of the hardest things to do, well it does not have to be that way.

Many times when we read the text for today, several words jump out, don’t conform and be transformed. Rightly so, but the problem is many of us stop there. We never ask ourselves the most important question which is “Why”

Why should I be transformed by the renewing of my mind? For what purpose?

Paul tell us the reason and it is so that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

God has a will and it is good acceptable and perfect! Meaning it has no flaws. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord…… this is another favorite scripture among believers. We read it and we stop there and shout about it. I usually tell people that God knows the good plans He has for your life, but do you know those plans?

The thing is this, when our minds are renewed as we soak ourselves in His word then our eyes are opened and we begin to see and know that good acceptable and perfect will he has over our lives.

Remember, we pray saying “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” Jesus in the garden said “Not my will by thine be done” How would it be possible for Jesus to make this statement if He did not know what the will of God was? He knew it, and remember Jesus is the word!

The word of God is powerful, sharper than any two edged sword and when we allow ourselves to soak in it as we meditate on it then we begin to have an understanding of what Gods perfect will for our lives is.

It’s time for renewal and transformation, time to read, meditate and implement!

Reflections:

What is Gods will for your life?

His word reveals His will, how committed are you when it comes to reading and meditating on the word of God?

The Holy Spirit lives in us, our helper, the one who knows all things, the one who knows the deepest things in Gods heart. Develop a relationship with Him, FELLOWSHIP of the Holy Spirit, He will reveal to you Gods will for you.

  1. God sliced down the number of Gideon’s army 🪖 by the process of elimination and illumination and those who were with him never backed down from a fight
