Maverick City Music puts ‘pause’ on working with Dante Bowe ‘due to behaviour’

The wildly popular worship collective, Maverick City Music, has shocked many by saying they will not be working with Dante Bowe for the foreseeable future.

In a post made to its social media channels on Monday evening, MCM says that it did not make the decision lightly but that it needed to be done.

“Due to behaviour that is inconsistent with our core values and beliefs, we have decided to put a pause on our professional relationship with Dante Bowe.”

For his part, Bowe has not made any statements and his Instagram account is now set to private. The band also admitted that the statement is made even more difficult “because of the level of nuance,” however it was one the members say they felt was “necessary to address.”

Maverick says that while they are not working with Bowe right now they do remain in his corner. “Dante is a brother in Christ and as such he has our full commitment and unwavering support as he continues to navigate his path forward.”

The worship group often points out that it is not a typical band, but rather “a collective.” Part of their statement points to that fact, and says that “as such, no one artist’s actions or behaviour can always be attributed as a reflection of our core beliefs and values.”

In closing, the band says that “Each of us need God’s grace, and our hope is that we all pray and give him the same opportunity to grow in Christ as we give ourselves.”
